The Golden Chariot

One of the top luxury trains in the world , The Golden Chariot takes the tourist for memorable journey of exotic locations of both Karnataka and Goa . Each cabin of The Golden Chariot Train is equipped with latest amenities of comfort and relaxation All the cabins are fully air conditioned and have facilities of Wi-Fi, LCD television , DVD, personal chic washrooms. In particular , The Golden Chariot is one of the first trains which has a dish antennae that ensures the round the clock viewing of satellite television programs. All the coaches of the Golden Chariot Train been named separately after the ruling family which ruled Karnataka at one point of time or the other . Hence the tourist will find the coaches with names like Adhilshahi, Chalukya, Kadamba, Sangama and Vijaynagar

 

As the name suggest, this luxury train of India is named after the famous Stone Chariot at Hampi . The amazing tour of the two States of Karnataka and Goa which commences on Monday at 6 pm comes to an end on next Monday at 11:00 am

The First Day : Monday

Check in time to board the train        6:00 pm

The 26 twin beds and 17 double bed cabins , The Golden Chariot begins its colorful journey from Banglore – the Capital of Karnataka . The vibrant city is also called the Silicon Valley of India because it houses the top IT offices of India .Dinner is served onboard .

 

The Second Day : Tuesday

Arrival : Mysore at                                         1 am

Tour of Rajiv Gandhi National Park              8:00 am

Return to train                                              10:00 pm

Overnight stay onboard the train

 

The Golden Chariot is physically challenged friendly, it has one exclusive cabin for the travelers with limited mobility . On the second day the train arrives at Mysore the second largest city of Karnataka . This city has a rich heritage of art and culture and this is depicted in its palaces , art , literature , music and dance . Mysore lies at a distance of 141 kilometers from Banglore.

 

Some of the incredible tourist attractions are Srirangapatna the island citadel of its former ruler Tipu Sultan. For the wild life buffs Rajiv Gandhi National Park, Nagarhole (Kabini) is a great place to visit since this Park houses the finest flora and fauna . It’s a great sight watching the wildlife like tiger, leopard, deer, wild boar freely roaming in the park.

The famed Hoyala Temple complex housing the Chennakesava Temple exists at Belur of Hassan district . Halebidu the political seat of Hoysalas is abode to many Hindu shrines , The Hoysaleswara Temple is one of the famous temple of this complex. At Shravanabelagola on Vindhyagiri Hill. is perched the 58 ft statue of Lord Gomateswara. It is the famous pilgrimage site for the Jains, Once in twelve years pilgrims gather in large number for Lord Gomateswara’s head anointing ceremony.

Hampi, the world heritage site is one of the most visited tourist sites of India . The Capital of the famed Vijaynagara empire today lies in ruins and is spread over 26 sq kilometers . The remains of the palaces, forts can be still seen at the two designated areas of Royal and Sacred Center Another notable aspect of this leg of tour is getting a glimpse of the rural life by paying a visit to Anegundi village .

 

The Sixth Day : Saturday
