Located in the westernmost part of the state of Gujarat,
the westernmost city of India, Bhuj is known for its Katchi
style of architecture. Founded by a local ruler Maharao
Hamir in 1510, the city remained an independent princely
state during the British rule. The local rulers built
the walls of the city in 1723. Bhuj is also known for
its famous desert festival Rann Utsav and its traditional
handicrafts and embroidery.
The weather of the city is hot due to the presence

The Hall of Mirrors and the Pleasure Pool within this
palace are some very beautiful structures reflecting
the Kutchi style of architecture. The other famous palace
of the city is the Prag Mahal (New Palace), which was

The village of Dholavira, an ancient site associated
with the Indus Valley Civilization, the Anjal Wild Ass
Sanctuary and the town of Gandhidham are other places,
which attracts the tourists from all over the world.
