The city's history is very interesting it is said that Lord Krishna who was the head of the Yadav Clan, told Arjuna a descendent of Yadav Clan will built a kingdom on Trikuta Hill. And in 1156 A.D. his prophecy can true when Rawal Jaisal left his Lodurva fort and declared Jaisalmer on the Trikuta Hill his new capital

How to reach there

Desert Festival

By Air
Many airlines such as Jackson Airways have started flights to Jaisalmer from Delhi. But these plane is 8-seated which operates only in the peak season that is from December to February. Otherwise Jodhpur is the nearest airport to this Indian city. You can also choose to fly either to Jodhpur or Jaipur.


By Road
The Rajasthan Roadways offers extremely comfortable and luxurious, air conditioned buses which operate from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner. The roads are very condition that makes road travel safe and comfortable.


By Rail
The city of Jaisalmer is connected to capital city of Delhi Via Delhi-Jaisalmer Express. This train starts from Delhi at 5:00 pm and reaches its destination the next day at 12.45pm. you can also reach Jodhpur and from there take a train to Jaisalmer.
